On the 57, I have the door off and completely stripped out and painted on the inside. Question is: Will I be able to get to the screws to install the outside handle after installing the window glass, regulator and the glass run channel?
Or do I need to paint the outside and install the outer door handle first?

I would do your paint and then first thing that goes in is your door latch and handle. If you put the window in first you can't get to the handle to put those two clutch head screws in.Larry

The door handle screws are accessable with the windows in, however it would probably be safer to do as Larry says, if you drop the front clutch head screw down into the door it will be real tough to recover it. I removed and replaced the handles on my '55.2 with the windows in.

I also installed my outside handles with the windows in, on my 55.2 3100. Dropped the screws a couple of times down in the door.
All I can say is that it was a "ROYAL PAIN IN THE AZZ".

Thanks guys. My doors are off and on a work table.
But I could not remember if I removed the outside handle before or after removing the glass and regulator.
