The hinge pocket on the driver side door post is rusted out - does anyone know where I can get a replacement. Also, when I cut the door post do I need to brace the cab - is the cab going to twist sag?

Almost all the Truck suppliers sell the lower door post. You have to provide your own threaded nut holder and pocket brace. You will want to make sure that nothing moves on you so bracing is a good idea.

Thanks, I did buy the lower post but wasn't sure what to do with what was left of the pocket. There is hardly anything there to try and replicate. Even the lower bolt is broken off. Is the pocket something you have to try and fabricate? I have a friend whos doing my major welding and he's was even a little worried about that area.

Well, your hinge should give you a pretty good guide for the layout of the bolt holes and the new stamping should have a pretty faithful reproduction of the idented area. The reinforcement is a flat piece of heavy gauge metal that is bent in a big rectangle around the area. by the sound of it, your lower cowl must be still there, otherwise it would be visible.
