I have all new stuff to redo the vent seals. My question is the big rubber seal around the vent glued, riveted or how does it come out? I have drilled out the rivets and have the frame out, but cannot see what holds the seal in.. My manual does not show this in detail. Thanks. Tech Tips shows an older model.

There is a lot of info in this thread thanks to other Bolters Window felt thread | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | the shaped one around the front of the frame is cupped on the edges to 'grip' the frame, the straight division post rubber is riveted, and there's also separate rivets that hold the felt channel side on the post - there's a few pics starting here that might help - note there's also rivets that hold the frame to the post, might need to drill those out as well, I fergit Bill | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 Sir Searchalot | | Sir Searchalot Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 | As Bill says, the three sided rubber snaps into place. You have to work it in with different non cutting "tools" until you hear it pop. The forth side is riveted and I believe I bonded the division bar felt into place with 3M super weatherstrip adhesive. For the run channel there is a keeper down inside for the bottom and the rest I use tiny screws at/near corners and 3M and clamps. The run is the hardest part for me. Getting the vent glass back into the frame is hard also. Cut that run after the vent is all in place and cut it long because no matter how you measure it , it will sink in deeper and be too short where it meets division bar. You may not want to bond the run at all, some folks do not, I do. Have fun with those anti rattle wiskers, the nubs don't match the holes and you can't push in, no access. I shaved some of the nubs with a die grinder a tiny bit. What a hassle.

Bill I am glad you posted the pictures, they cleared up another problem I thought I had. The little stud that the vent window handle goes on.....I thought mine was broken/rusted and a part of it was missing. But I see that it is only half round where the roll pin goes. Mine was missing the lever, so I did not know this.
