The ignition switch has three posts, one for positive in to the switch, one out to engine ignition, another out to accessories. But both the accessory post and the ignition post are activated simultaneously when one turns the key. The keyed switch only has two positions, on and off. Why the two posts, is it just to avoid having too many wires running from a single post? Why shouldn't I wire other accessories (turn signals) from the ignition post if I want to avoid having too many wires running from the other post?

I put an 8 fuse one in my '54. I used a relay to run power from the amp gauge to the accessory panel, switched on by the accessory terminal of the ignition switch. | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 423 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 423 | The only things running from the accessories post are the heater blower and the blinkers. This is a simple truck. Still, is there any real difference between those two output posts off the ignition switch?
