Have to pull the 235 and finally address the leaking rear main while she's in her underwear. Was considering juicing up my 235 with offy intake dual carbs and fenton headers, and stumbled onto a rebuilt '68 327 that an old guy never installed. Comes with a 700R4. Way cheaper option than 235 upgrade, and I always wanted overdrive. So research on '60-'62 V-8 motor mounts has led me to a state of confusion. Is there a simple answer? The 235 itself was not easy; I had to have the front mount re-vulcanized because I couldn't find a replacement. Ray

Might get some help there. I can't help, but it sounds like to fun project. Hambone | | | | Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 80 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 80 | the engine would have used a mount very similar to what your 235 had, and if I remember right the rubber pad is the same between the two. | | | | Joined: Aug 2013 Posts: 568 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2013 Posts: 568 | I'm thinking it's the same. My 64 had a 327 and th400. Sweet little cruiser. Best of luck to you.
I can explain it to you, I can't understand it for you.

It will not support the engine and trans correctly as there is too much distance between the front of the engine and the rear of the trans. There are numerous aftermarket suppliers that sell tubular cross members for this purpose. One mounts to the center of the engine the other on the rear of the trans. You will likely have to remove the existing rear cross member. Fred
