So after getting this running decided to see if I could make it stop master cylinder was bone dry filled it and pumped up pedal then worked on bleeding and refilled. Now here's the problem the dang things don't release if ya walk away and let it sit awhile pressure bleeds off and they are free I'm kinda stumped! 58 Viking 60 by the way

most likely cause would be bad rubber hoses, they can deteriorate inside and rubber plugs it enough to prevent or slow pressure release, best to replace them

Hy coal, It could be that the compensating port in the master cylinder is plugged with something, or the master cylinder is not returning to its full at rest position. When you have the cap off of the master cylinder you should be able to see two ports a larger port to the rear and a much smaller port forward of that, that one is the compensating port, check that port with a bit of fishing line to make sure it is open, hope that helps.
