A year ago I had the 3.55 gear upgrade and they put a speedometer adapter on. Just recently my speedometer quit working though connections hadn't changed. I took the gauge out and lubed it, also lubed the cable, and the odometer which never worked, put it back in and they both worked for about 1/10th of a mile. I totally don't get it. It works fine when I spin it, and there is only one way the cable can connect, right? What am I missing here???

Does it rest at 0 when not in use.
Will it return to 0?

Currently it rests at zero all the time and the odometer is stuck at 1/10th mile beyond what it had been.

Only one way to connect it

Make sure the connection nut on the back is not to tight.
You can pull the inner cable to inspect it. I'm sure you already did that since you stated you lubed it.

Thanks Dads50. Hadn't thought connection could be over tightened, I'll turn it back a notch and see if that's it. BTW does the same apply to the trans connection? I think the gauge stops like the second video & that it's good.
