For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 170 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 170 | Anyone have a picture of a correct air cleaner for a stock 41 pickup with a carter W1 carb.? Or perhaps one for sale? I already bought an incorrect one on Ebay because I don't know what it is supposed to look like. I think the one I bought is from a later model because it won't clear the cover for the metering rod assembly. There is another one on e-bay but I don't know if it is correct or not. I already bought one that did not fit and don't want to make the same mistake twice. They are also the type shown in in the shop manual. Only problem is base does not fit carb like factory did but they look right.
Hardest part to find is that little tiny stamped steel wing nut!

I was under the impression that they had an oil bath filter. The previous owner put an old sock in place of the brass or fiber element. Thanks for the great help once again, Scott. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 1,321 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 1,321 | Here is a great HOW TO article on making your own Copper Filter.
