It is drippy enoughy to cause OJ concern. Right where the yoke fits into the tranny. Any thoughts on a fix without having to pull it out? A rope seal perhaps? just wanna slow it down.....

Undo the U-joint and there is a bolt holding the yoke on. Pull the yoke and replace the seal. Same as a 55 to 57 I would think.

On the closed system it will leak as described above. There is no seal at the tail-shaft in that system. There is a compression seal at the end of the "ball" housing and a set of gaskets with shims that seal and adjust the ball to the transmission. The procedure in the manual posted above works.
