The rubber part that holds the L-shaped part of the linkage won't hold the linkage in place. There isn't a hole all the way thru it. Seems to me that there should be. When my back stops hurting from the last time I crawled under the dash to work on it, I will take out that rubber piece and punch a small hole in it to allow it to go thru further and I will keep the hole small enough to grip the linkage. I will keep you posted. It may be a while if it doesn't rain soon, as the jinx only raises its ugly head when it rains. BTW, I enjoy following your journey even in bits and pieces, as you are encountering every single issue which I have encountered at one time or another.
