(short) Want to bolt 1-1/2 ton running boards to 3/4 ton fenders. (else I'll have to buy different running boards). These are for a 1946 Chevy 3/4 ton.

That leaves the spece between the back of the cab and the front of the rear fenders open. | | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 | I've never seen rear fenders on a flatbed. I would expect the 1 1/2-2 ton boards to work on a 3/4 ton flat bed. But I have no idea how 3/4 ton factory flatbed boards were mounted. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 34 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 34 | Thanks, I was worried about the width of the running board where the fender attaches. They mount on brackets extending from the frame.

May fit, may not. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 34 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 34 | Someone said that the only differences between 1-1/2 ton fenders and 1/2 ton fenders are the 1-1/2 ton fenders are cut out at the front edges to prevent the larger tires from rubbing when turning. I haven't been able to verify this.

Mine were torn up badly and I tried to find aftermarket running boards for the 3/4 ton. I never did find any and had to rework the old ones. It took a while but I was able to reuse them. The running boards seem to be like rear 3600 brake drums, impossible to find! | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | It looks like you only choice on reproduction 3/4 ton running boards is fiberglass. Same material that is used for repo rear valance (deflector) on 47-55 panel body trucks.

I need to compare the running board supports, or at least find the specs for both.
