I want to keep the original look for the headlights. Someone told me rather than using seal beams i can use the halogen headlight conversion kit. anyone know anything about this? what is needed? where do i get it? thanks paul | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | start here, scroll along for various setups Bill | | | | | Joined: Jan 2011 Posts: 237 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2011 Posts: 237 | | | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 1,700 back yard wrench turner | | back yard wrench turner Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 1,700 | Wayne1938 1-Ton Farm TruckStovebolt Gallery Forums1989 Silverado 1996 Mustang GT convertible When I die, I hope she doesn't sell everything for what I told her I paid for it! | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 | I just noticed that yours is a 37. I am working on a 38 master and have a similar but different setup. I believe the bulbs are the same. My reflectors are good so I bought some very bright 12 volt bulbs by Ron Francis. I just finished comparing the bulbs in the assembly with a 6 volt sealed beam that I use on my truck. The 12 volt setup for my 38 is much brighter and better than my 6 volt sealed beams. The bulbs are special and not the ordinary 12 volt replacements that they sell.
Chevs of the 40s offers new reflectors with halogen bulbs that they say fits a 1937 car and truck. They also have other reflectors made for the 37 car. The part number is 920772H37.
Headwinds makes a kit to install a type of sealed beam halogen headlight for 37/38 Chevs and Buicks.
