I am at a loss as to where to go and look for these I have googled and get the "fancy" stuff. This truck is a wheat truck. I am not trying to "deck" it out I just need some wheels/tires. They are 7.50/20 If anyone has any information I would appreciate it.

What year 5700? I have a '55 6500,and it uses 10 bolt Budd's,(2-piece,with ring). These are acceptable,as long as they're in good shape! There's a '56 6400,(on the same farm),and it has 6-hole,6-bolt Firestone RH-5's,which,are considered dangerous. Truck tire guys won't touch them! We just found a set to fit my buddy's bus(6-hole "Widow-Makers"),but they're 19:5's,(radials),and he wants to go with 22:5's,but they're the 6-bolt pattern! I'm not sure the 6-bolts are available in the 22:5's. As for the tires, the 7:50X20:00's,are hard to find, compared to 8:25's,or the 9:00's. All three sizes are compapible for the same rim. I use 8:25X20:00's,on the steers, and 9:00x20;00's,on my drives. The taller rear tires gets my speed up to a comfortable 55. Call Tire Associates. I think they have a branch in your area. Baraboo close? S2502 County Road BD Baraboo,Wis. 53913 Phone:(800)233-6943.(608)356-8880. They mounted my tires for a fair price, and were careful with the new paint! They didn't charge much to get rid of the old tires, either.

BubbaDan,

7.50 x 20 Hi-Way tires are still available, it's the Snow/Mud tires that are hard to find.

Wetwilly,

I have 6-lug 22.5's on all of my 1956/57 2-1/2 ton trucks...

Where did you find the 22.5 wheels, 6 lug? Thanks!

I'm still looking! I found a couple of bread trucks with 19:5's,with the same bolt pattern. Problem is,the guy wants to sell all three of the trucks as a "lot" set. We're still looking for the 22:5's. (Taller profile) Too bad the truck doesn't have "Dayton's"! There are about 6 '70-'72 Chevy and G.M.C. buses out there,(where the '59's parked), with 9:00R22:5's mounted on them. We're seriously thinking about swapping these axles! We'll still have to go with new radials, since the life expectancy of a radial is much shorter than a bias-ply.

Willy,

They did make 6-lug Budd to Dayton wheel adaptors that would also solve your issue, but the are very rare.

Willy, Been awhile since I have been on here but a buddy of mine has 6 22.5 6 lug stud piloted Budd wheels with rolling tires that he is wanting to sell. I will see if I can take a picture of them for you,if interested holler at me. These wheels came off of a 1957 GMC LCF with a Pontiac 347 Cid.core block and heads and a rebuilt 2 barrel Stromberg Carb. 5 speed Tranny w/pto Interested? also have the hydro boost brake booster ,accumulator tank and vacuum lines.

Some confusion.

Hydroboost brake booster uses power steering pressure as assist. http://littlekeylime.com/MrN/img/hydroboost/hydroboost.png
Hydrovac uses vacuum as the assist. http://dave78chieftain.zxq.net/Hydrovac/HydrovacOperation.jpg

Old trucks may have had hydrovac boosters, and new ones including most all diesel pickups commonly use hydroboost.

Well Grigg, what can I say? learning ,that's just a list of some parts he has. Some parts ,including rear end housing with square axle tubes and a 2 speed third member gear set are laying around the shop also. thank you for your time,it took us forever to get the hub piloted wheels off the new truck 19.5's,ended up pulling the hub with it and put the wheel and hub under a concrete doorway and used a bottle jack and a 76"pipe as a press and presto(pop)would have been bad on the road. oh well something else to deal with or modify. Be blessed
