Hi fellow Big BOLT stovebolters
Due to a chain of events ,my ISUZU diesel powered CHEVY S10 is not able to make the trip out to NEVADA so I can look for some land to buy .And I have to leave now.
Some butt wipe bean counter at Fel-pro and other gasket makers here in the US decided that the ISUZU 1800 diesel head gasket should be discontinued .I can get it in Europe ,Australia ,England with out any problem ,sorry I'm still a bit ticked off .
My 52 1 ton panel has a very worn out tranny,if it's in a forward gear and it rolls backward it tries to lock up.
So I've decided to take my 48 216ci 2 ton flatbed.It has only 15,000 miles.With a 5 speed tranny
It was a well matained firetruck .
For the trip I've updated the brakes with a 7 inch dual diaphragm vacuum booster and a dual circuit 1 1/4" bore master cylinder and two 10 pound residual valves .Will let you all know how the brakes work out and post all the details .
12 volt conversion
225 slant six carb,it runs perfect with this carb.
bucket seats ,by the way the original seat is for sale $200.00 mint shape expect for the upholstery, the springs are still gloss black
electric wipers
HEI dis
I'm leaving Kennesaw Georgia in a couple of days to Birmingham Alabama and get on Hwy 82 west all the way to Wichita Falls, TX ,then the route uses a couple of other Hwys ,you can follow the route by the towns below .
So if live near my route and can offer help if needed or just a place to park for the night for my truck and little camper or meet for coffee please send me a PM ,also if someone along my route wants to buy the seat($200.00?) or
a real good 6 volt battery ($40.00) I can take them with me .
Will let you all know the day I'm leaving and will post my location along the way .
Hope to meet some of my fellow bolters along the way Paul
