im new to these old trucks, this is my first one, and so im poking around to get some ideas as to what to expect, and i have come across some minor issues.
ive got a two ton, and most everything i find in the external links is for smaller trucks. do we have any links dedicated to these bigger trucks?
for example, ive seen it several times that people say that hydrovac rebuild kits are available, but the external links do not link directly to the product, and the external websites are proving impossible to navigate.
so, my first request would be for a direct link for a hydrovac rebuild kit.

on another note, ive created a website for this truck:
49chev6400.webs.com
im a shutterbug, so theres TONS of pics.

The address and phone number is posted right here on this page, under "Hydrovacs-Is there a way to get rid of them?" Midwest Power Products,Morris,Il. (815)943-0550. from what I've read,NEW costs about $100.00 more than a re-build kit.

I paid $200 for a rebuilt Hydra-Vac and that included a warranty. Any big truck shop will have access to them on an exchange basis.

Midwest is the man. Nice, and knows everything about brake systems from the teens on up. Name is Rich.

Midwest Power Products. Hands down the go to guy. He even knew about the Bendix Type II vac on my CCKW. NOBODY knows about the Bendix Type II vac.. other than they don't have them grin

For a 2 ton truck go for a Series III vac. Parts still available and you can find them for less than $100 on ebay.

alright, for the specific model that my truck has, it will be 165 for the rebuild kit, and 295 for me to mail in my unit, and have them do the work for me....add in postage to get it there, and we're looking at about 320. very awesome guy!
