I have found an intake for 2 carbs. I have a 235 and was just thinking...would 2 carbs from a 216 work better than 2 from a 235...what do you think?

Most likely, yes. You'd have "too much carburetor" if you use two carburetor rated for that year (or newer) 235. Will you be using dual exhaust manifolds?

Before you buy 216 carbs (such as Carter or Rochester), check the bolt-to-bolt distance for the carburetor mounting bolts on the intake. All 216 and early 235 carbs have different/smaller bolt spacing than newer 235 intake spacing.

Thanks! I have some 216 1 barrel carbs sitting in the garage. I had thought about changing the base but was advised against that on this site. When I get a good look at the intake I will know if my cheap idea will work...:)
