For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 | I pulled the heater assembly from under the hood of the '60 GMC. I understand how to get the heater checked, (by dipping and pressure check), but I think the blower motor may be bad, it was not connected to anything but it is kinda hard to turn. How do you test the motor to se if it turns?

A word of warning: IF your motor somehow becomes "unbound" and you are connected to the battery, get a grip! I thought mine turned a little too slowly, so I did what Bill recommends. I was unprepared for how fast that squirrel cage spun. It makes quite a whirlwind with 12v across it!

Bill Take the time to clean and lube the motor bearings.
