Not knowing where you are in the paint and body process but what I did was sand blast and paint mine. My guess is that it was untreated from the factory otherwise it would not have rusted.

Thanks, Vern.Right now I am pulling out old wire and the heater. Still a lot of things in the way, but I'm gettin' there. I don't have access to a sand blaster. Sure would be handy in those tight spots. I might have to buy or maybe rent one. Not sure what to do after I remove the rust. I know Eastwood sells something for tight places, but I think I will try local first.
