We pulled the engine and the guys at the machine shop say I need Babbit Connecting Rod Repair. There doesn't seem to be anybody around Nashville who does this anymore. Any suggestions, possibly around here and who might be reasonable, of somebody to do this? Or can you buy kits? I'm considering doing the same sort of setup for stovebolt rods, but a simpler solution is to bore the rods for insert bearings. Buy a large jar of Vaseline before doing business with Egge!
