I am attempting to get my wife's grandfather's Master Deluxe running again. We pulled the engine and the guys at the machine shop say I need Babbit Connecting Rod Repair. There doesn't seem to be anybody around Nashville who does this anymore. Any suggestions, possibly around here and who might be reasonable, of somebody to do this? Or can you buy kits? Thanks, Regmudd

How many rods do you need, and what diameter is the crankshaft? I have some new old stock 216 rods in standard diameter, and some reconditioned ones in various undersizes. Drop me a PM.

I am in the process of tooling up to re-pour Babbit in Model A Ford rods, but my equipment isn't ready to work yet. I'm considering doing the same sort of setup for stovebolt rods, but a simpler solution is to bore the rods for insert bearings. Buy a large jar of Vaseline before doing business with Egge!
