Hey guys, just a few questions regarding lowing springs for my 59 3100. The truck has the stock leaf springs in it currently and i'd like to instal the 3" lowering leafs that LMC sells. My first question is that since my truck has worn out springs in it now and a small block will the new springs even lower it? im worried that it sags so much now that new springs might not make a big difference. Also has anyone on here used these springs?

Unfortunately no one can answer this question but you. Click here to find the information pack for your truck, which should show the unloaded height and you can determine how much it has settled and what difference the lowering springs will make by comparing that measurement to measurements from your truck (parked level on level ground).

I went through all this to lower my '46, lots of bugs to work out and since you are into a modified ride here I'd go with a independent front end. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with JiMerit. None of the aftermarket lowered springs that I have encountered gave a decent ride. I'm not sure what they sell but if they are mono type springs I would pass. We just changed some mono's out on a 55 Cameo for stock springs. It had terrible ride and the bump steer to go with it. Fred

Well the ride really doesn't concern me too much. i'm more then ok with the truck riding like a 55 year old truck. I'm only looking to give the truck a slightly lower ride.

Actually 55-60 year old trucks don't ride that bad in stock form. Many things to consider. As parts such as shocks, springs, king pins, tie rods, and steering boxes wear out they don't ride and steer very well. When ever you add aftermarket parts to the mix they can cause other related components to perform poorly.
