Howdy folks. I used to read here a lot. Love this place. I put my truck away for a few years and recently got it re-insured and tagged.

Since my truck never had a VIN or cowl tag I don't know how to answer my insurance guys who want a picture of it frown

I've got a valid VIN that is on my title however it was never on the truck.

Suggestions appreciated. If nobody has a better idea i'm going to use a die set and punch it onto the frame and cowl and call it good.

Reproduction plates are available, since you have the number buy a plate and a set of stamps and recreate what you truly own. Here is what an original 50' plate looks like as a guide. I think frame stamps would be a bad idea as these trucks are not stamped on the frame. For 1950 the screws shown are also correct they replaced the earlier clutch head versions shown here.

Thanks Brad. That's perfect. I'll see if my insurance company can settle down now.

If anyone has the time please snap a pic of the proper location.

Really appreciate the help. Man i love this truck, never part with it.

It goes right near the center of the driver side hinge pillar, there are two small off-set holes there. You can see mine in this picture.

Done! That was easy. Turns out my lovely wife gave me a metal stamping kit about 15 years ago that I'd forgotten about. Life is good.

It is a metallic service plate for the dealer to fill out for an oil change.
