on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 148 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 148 | I have put a 235 in my 49 1/2 ton an having trouble with the clutch. It is a 10 inch in there now but I have a new 9 inch clutch, pressure plate. If the bolt pattern is the same will the 9 inch stuff work as well? Still using original starter, bell housing, an clutch fork. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | Either size clutch assembly would probably work fine in normal driving. Of course, you can only use an assembly that will bolt-up to the flywheel.
Be sure to use a clutch assembly with matching pressure-plate and release bearing (there are two lengths of release bearings, each matching a different "height" pressure plate).
