It is a stamped metal, material... ... so my question is about, the preparation and paint. This is my daily driver, so it is going to get dirty, etc.. Suggestions? Just an idea I am playing with. Thanks for any information. -W | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | use pinstripe or model paint, same as for the color touches on emblems, no prep except good cleaning, expect to need redoing it over time, those look like the stamped stainless shell type

Just use striping paint and a fine brush. If it's well done it shouldn't need redoing until many years later. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 785 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 785 | If you can get accurate dimensions your local sign shop could make those for you out of colored vinyl. Clean the hubcaps, stick the vinyl in place... | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 Sir Searchalot | | Sir Searchalot Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 | I've done some emblems in Chevy orange. (57 Fender Emblems & hood emblems, chrome and orange) Lot of masking. Do you intend on masking or hand brush? I, myself, could not do a good job on those by hand. I had several problems tying that on emblems. I took a million pics to do a Tech Tip but did not really feel qualified to give advice. Just my lessons learned.
