I got both of my doors aligned after about 8 hours of frustration and swearing! Aligned both doors with the striker plates off. Both doors have the same 3/16 -1/4 inch gap all the way around and both line up flush with the cowling!! Now here is the situation....The drivers door shuts perfectly without slamming....just a persuasive push. The passenger side door latch scrapes on the door striker which in turn shoves the back side of the door up about an 1/8th inch. I moved the striker all the way to the bottom of the elongated holes and the latch still scrapes on the striker! Does anyone know if it is possible to further elongate the striker holes, shave down the hardened adjustment plates so as tho lower striker so it doesn't hit the bottom of the latch? Is it possible I got a bad striker? Bad door latch? I did notice that the pivot point on the passenger latch mechanism has a slight looseness. The driver side does not? Is this a problem? Are the door latches adjustable? They don't appear to be. I'm about to get on MY own LAST NERVE with this! I have ordered new latches and strikers! PLEASE....anyone got some suggestions or recommendations to correct this? Oh, hinges are new tight and smooth operating.

Had the same issue on my task force I just resolved. My lower hinge was shot causing the door to sag enough when closing to cause the scrape. Removed and rebuilt the hinge and now fits without any scrape. Hope this helps.

I noticed that you have not thrown any tools yet. Do it carefully, as they tend to ricochet unpredictably. Hang in there, you are almost there.
