Can anyone tell me if the seat from a 54 will fit a 51? They look the same, but before I try it, I thought I'd ask. John

John,

The seat was widened in 1950 by 2-1/2" and in 1951 the improved tracks and adjustment rod instead of the cable were introduced. This system remained in use through the 1955 1st Series.

The same conventional cab seat frame and seat cushion was used from 51-55st.

If you have an early 1951 truck, there is a slight possibility that the older seat frame might have been used until the factory ran out of them.

From what Brad has posted, it looks like the change took place in 1950, with 1951 being the first full year with the newer style frame?

Thanks for the info. I just didn't want to pull two seats apart for the practice. My 51 was hacked by a PO to put speakers under the seat. John
