Well, it doesn't fit. My steering column was represented as a 1970 Suburban, but it can't be. The male connector attached to the column is curved, with eight wires attached. My real need is just to know what each wire goes to. I'd gladly purchase a wiring diagram, if I knew the correct year for the column.
I have a new blank female curved connector with no wires attached, just a supply of the little pins so I can make it up.
Any suggestions from bolters ? | | | | | Joined: May 2003 Posts: 1,271 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2003 Posts: 1,271 | How are the wires marked?
I believe this is typical of GM columns:
G - single green: horn H - double aqua: left front turn signal J - double blue: right front turn signal K - single purple: hazard L - single purple: turn signal flasher M - single yellow: left rear turn signal N - single dark aqua: right rear turn signal P - double white/orange: brake switch
Does that help?

With a library full of wiring diagrams, I could determine the year and model of the column by matching wire colors | | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 183 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 183 | Cletis has a great tip in Tech Tips on this.
