forgive me for asking such a silly question but I am 5000 miles from my truck and trying to find the right flare wrenches to do some brake work when I get home. Can someone tell me the size of the hex on the Rubber brake lines?

| | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,746 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,746 | 3/16" steel lines have a 3/8" flare nut, and the rubber flex lines will have 5/8" wrench sizes on both ends. The line coming from the master cylinder to the front and rear T-blocks will probably be 1/4" diameter tubing with a 7/16" nut. The upper end of a rubber flex line will also be locked into a bracket on the frame that restricts it from turning, but I always use a flare nut wrench as a backup anyway.

I assumed its a Chevrolet 1955 1st series 3100 1/2 ton truck.
