OK, looks like someone tapped into the wiper washer wiring for power for the electric choke... neither of which are currently working. Thanks guys.
I have my work cut out for me under the dash. I found another item attached to the steering column that I assume is the brake light switch. Some of the wires are spliced, some are dead ended... I am torn between replacing the whole wiring harness or redoing the one that is in there. Either way, I think I will remove the current one and go over it really good before I reinstall it. There is, however, a modern fuse block, which is nice.
One more thing is an item that looks like a relay mounted to the firewall in the vicinity of the clutch pedal that currently has no wires attached to it. Anyone want to hazard a guess on that one? This could be the beginning to a fun little game... identify the part!
