I'm not sure I understand your post. Wouldn't the key switch in this rig have only OFF and ON, and wouldn't you want to make sure the switch was positioned in OFF. :confused:
EDIT. My assumption was that he is trying to JOG the engine without starting it.

You're right, I should have said ON rather than START. I assumed since the post was about a remote
starter he wanted to try to start the truck from under the hood. As Curt says, if you want to start the truck, the ign. switch is on, if you are just wanting to turn the engine over, the ign. switch is off. But in either position, be sure the truck is in neutral.
