OK lets see....make sure you are loosing the power to the sol trem that engages the sol,,the starter can turn if the drive is stuck in the engaged position as it will have the contacts inside the sol still closed,,I don;t know about wired wrong as there should be only 2 small wired trem at the starter 1 is to start 1 is for 12 volts to coil for starting..1 should have power when key sw is in start position the other is powered only when starter sol is engaged to supply 12 volts to coil.check large return spring in sol.I have seen the ns switch on an auto car keep starter engauged after car was shut off the started would engage because cuircit was completed thru ns sw((the sw was bad and allowing sol start cuircit to groung thus engaging starter...doc
