Solenoid is wired wrong and continues to receive power after you are releasing the remote button... Even though you are using the remote, somehow your current wiring is telling the solenoid to keep spinning the starter. Make sure the remote switch isn't touching something it shouldn't be also as that would have the same effect. My experience on this is limited to 60's Camaro, but if you reverse the solinoid wires you get that effect.
