Hi,and WELCOME,thehopper! I drove a '60 Chevy Viking 60,from 1979-1988,almost daily! at the same time,my "daily driver was a '65 G.M.C. 3/4-ton,with a 305E V-6,and 2-speed auto. Rear end was posi 4:11,so TOP speed was 48,and that was pushin'it.Nice find!! I hope the V-6 is still in good enough shape to save. They're gas hogs,but built very well.My 3/4-ton had a canister filter,but adapters are available. I LOVE the '60-'66 Chevy's,and especially the G.M.C's. I think you're going to enjoy your truck. That '60 Viking sat for almost 10-years,before I got it running,again! It took 2 days,to rebuild the carb,clean the tank,new plugs,points,etc...including fixing the lights/wiring! In 8 years,I replaced the starter,water pump,and switched to an alternator-no brake issues,(including hydrovac).I only used the clutch to start out. Tranny shifted like butter,as well as the 2-speed rear,(LOADED).B.T.W... The '60 Viking,(Chevrolet)I drove,was classified as a 2-ton,and it had the 5-stud,5-hole wheels,(10-lug rears).Also on 22:5 rubber. My best friend,at the time,owned a '60 Apache 30,and it was definitely a 1-ton,(17.5,8-bolt wheels). Same front sheet metal as a 1/2,3/4-ton.
