After you have removed the knob and its shaft, the nut in the thing left sticking out of the dash. It screws into the front of the light switch, though the dash panel. The shaft and knob come out by pulling it towards you and pushing the little button on the bottom of the switch. Some times you have to work it in and out a little to get it to come free.
