He drove his Stang Convertible and I my panel. We had some flags and bows on the door handles ect. It was heart warming as folks clapped and could be hear saying THANK YOU many times. It almost brought a tear to the eye. I was also surprised at the young folks who were waving flags and also hollering Thank You as we went by. They may not fully understand yet but they will always remember the day and sometime in the future know why.
..... I almost didn't make it. What a shame that would have been. The best part is that Art is almost 80 years old and after the parade we went to Chc-Fil-A. As we ate Art told me some of his stories while in the Navy. I personally thank him and since he had his cap on just about everyone in the place came by and Thanked him. Maybe there is hope for us yet. | | |
