The Magazine Classic Trucks May '98 isssue has an excellent article by Doc Frohmader on this topic. Frohmader bolts up a TH-700R4 to a 292 no problem at all. Frohmader makes the same point as Bo, the 292 has the same bellhousing as the V8's
