| | | | Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 200 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 200 | The rings are essential for aligning the intake ports in the head and intake manifold. The port mounting flange on the manifold is narrow enough, that it can mis-align easily and not seal to the head if you leave them out. Don't try to out think the GM engineers that designed them, they serve a necessary purpose.
