I believe your interpretation is correct. I've never heard connectors being called Wade connectors but I'm not an expert either. I "think" they may be referring to the spring loaded connectors that GM used. The male fitting has ears similar to taillight bulbs. It twists once inserted into the female fitting. I could be way out in left field.
