Ok, did my search and read all the messages about wiring I could find there so I guess its time to ask.
I need to run new wires to the rear of my 1950, Chevy 3600. While I’m at it, I’m going to add an original style right taillight and turn signals. According to the Shop Schematic the wire is all 16ga;
1. From the Light switch to the stoplight switch it is NAT. GRN. TR.
2. From the SL Switch to the connector it is NAT.
3. From the Light switch to the connector it is NAT. BLK. CR. TR.
4. Between the connectors is a smooth rubber and a ribbed rubber wire.
5. From the connector to the tail light pigtail the color code is the same as
2 and 3.
I am assuming that that the rubber wire is what I am seeing along the length of the frame that looks like black electric lamp cord. Probably because it is waterproof and the cloth covered is not, does that sound right? And if so do you think I could, use, black 16ga lamp cord?
I’m not positive what the abbreviations stand for, but I’m guessing;
NAT= Natural,
BLK=Black of course,
CR=Cream,
TR=Tracer,
GRN=Green, does that sound right?
Now I know it is a cry in the dark to think I can find 16ga cloth wire with this same color code but do I have a chance of finding a supplier that handles 16ga Cloth covered wire of any color? All that I have seen in the catalogs is 14ga, that’s to heavy, I don’t want to use it.
