So it looks like it was cast on July 11 1962 and put together and stamped with the serial on the next day, July 12 1962 or I suppose possibly 1963. I wonder if the application necessarily means it was put in a CLS60 or just prepared for it to be used at some point. In this case maybe used for a different application?
I have a copy of 'Standard catalog of American light-duty trucks' 3rd edition, published in 2001.
The book list the 261 as an option for the C10 in 1962 and the C&K10 in 1963.
These are the only years I am aware that it was an option.
My vin does start with 3k and it matches the frame number stamped behind the steering box on the drivers side. This tells me the cab goes with the frame it is on.
