Modern replacement camshafts and gears for the 216 are sold as the same for all years 1937 to 1953. However, there are differences in valve timing within these years. When these parts are used in a, say, 1941 216, will the valve timing match that of the later 216's?
I ask since my rebuilt 1941 216 fails the valve timing test shown in the 1942 shop manual.
