Chevrolet shows the same cam part number for 1938-40 in my 1940 parts book, and it has the same part number in my 1954 parts book for 1938-53 216 (1937 is by it's self).
If Chev made any change in a part they gave it a new part number so 1938-53 should be the same cam.
The steel gear shows 1937-39 taking one, and then 1940-62.
The filer gear fits 1937-62.
So to answer your question, if you put 1940 and later gears in a 1938-39 then the cam timing should be the same as 1940-62.
Your 1941 should take the same gears they are selling today and is unlikely to have 1937-39 crank gear.
