| | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 | If the engine has not been messed with and it is a 1941 it will not have valve seals. It will instead have caps that fit over the top of the stem and spring retainer to shed the oil to the outside of the spring. These caps get removed over time and that leaves the valve with no seal at all. They will smoke quite a bit in this case.
