...hopefully it's not valve timing, i haven't looked into how difficult it is to adjust valve timing on these engines, but i hope i don't have to be that intrusive so soon.
Just get rid of it now then...
find something you'll be more comfortable cleaning up and playing on rather than working on...
Unless you have money to burn having others work on these trucks, ESPECIALLY old and unrestored ones, need work before they will play. Deep down dirty work
