That link is good, but on a 4 or 6 you will notice a slight bounce at idle (around 18-20inches/vacuum). My L134 bounces about 1-2inches.
Harbor Fright sells a very good vacuum gauge. Large and easy to read. Also comes with several tips for whatever hole you have available.
