It looks kind of like there's a "Base" that they sit on. The base thing is riveted to the bucket, and the springs sit tightly on the little grooves (they look kind of like threads).

Yes, that is exactly how it is arranged, aside from the fact that the old springs were bad (and not hooked up).
My question is how do I put new springs on the base part of the headlight bucket... Because it's pretty much impossible to aim the headlights without them.
