I currently have no emergency brakes. the left side emergency brake cable was hooked up but was not having any braking/holding effect and the right side was missing the cable altogether. I ordered a new cable from classic parts of america(cpa) but the end of the cable which attaches to the brake lever inside the drum is different from left side cable and will not attach to the emergency brake lever. the new cable has a metal bar at the end whereas the old one has a "u" shaped yoke which hooks on to the lever hook. when I called cpa the guy assured me that I must be missing a part in the drum for the cable bar to slide into. I think that is unlikely because the left cable and lever seem correct. I called inline tubing (I think it's called) and they carry cables for every year except the 1950--which makes me think the correct cable is hard to find for the 1950. i'd show a picture but i'm not sure how to post it on a separate site and share the link. does anyone know anything about the 1950 brake cable and where I can find the correct one. thanks much. 1950 1/2 ton.
