The body work doesn't require much more than a few hammers and a good supply of rocks to use as dollies, some files and a way to weld in patches... not me But I would remove TIME from the equation if doing it myself (after doing it myself).

If Time is a factor, pay the shop and have a way to resolve issues legally. Using a 'friend' to save money usually doesn't.
