ok Stovebolter's let see if you can solve this one for me..
I can't identify my engine #, when I purchached the truck it was not the original engine in the truck and the seller told me the engine came out of a 1953 GMC truck located in Montreal, Canada.
Here's all the info that I can find under the hood.
Valve cover: Two acorn nuts
Located on block left side of distributor: LAQ459I83
On the block just above distributor: B19 857 966 570 not certain about first #5 and #9 very fuzzy
On the head casting carburator side: 3701887
On the block behind starter: H193
On the block behind fuel pump: 2 GM
