Your right on two acconts Dave. The scissors on my swiss army knife worked perfectly for cutting my own rod shims out of shim stock. I finally did get the other shims to peel apart, also using my very sharp knife, however, being .0025 thick, I needed other size shim material to get the clearances I wanted. Your also correct about the fact that there are no instructions sent with these things. It also does not help when the supplier will not answer e-mails or phone calls. The shims I recieved were of the Billy Possum brand, and they will peel apart. After I finally suceeded in geeting them apart I had some fun giving a few to my mechanic and machine shop buddies and asking them to make me a .0025 shim out of what they had in their hand
